Claude is originally from Gatineau. He studied engineering at the University of Ottawa and obtained his diploma in 1974. He then started working, first for a consortium in Hull for three years as a building site supervisor and then started his own business in Caraquet, New Brunswick. He then moved to Mont-Laurier in 1980 and started working for Fondex limité until 1996. The company then closed but Claude restarted it under the name Fondex des Hautes-Rivières. Claude is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec and of the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO). He was hired by the Tribal Council in January 2004. At the Tribal Council, Claude is in charge of urban planning, water resources, potable water and treatment, environment, roads, bridges, ditches, waste management, project management and construction supervision, sewage treatment plant, design, maintenance, etc.
